More than 40 people have been killed across China’s southern provinces over the past three months in a surge of hornet attacks in cities and villages.
In one province alone, 30 children have suffered severe organ failure due to repeated stings from the Asian giant hornet.
Its highly toxic venom causes tissue degeneration, anaphylactic shock and renal failure.
