Latter-day Saints view of Islam

Much of the commentary and analysis we hear about issues involving the Islamic faith comes through a media which is secular, or in some countries, through the filters of a dominant religion. Or in subtle ways, a combination of both.

But what do smaller, less-dominant religions think of the issues facing the Islamic faith?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the adherents of Mormonism, have an Islamic and Middle East program at their private institute — Brigham Young University, in Utah.

The head of the unit, Professor Daniel Peterson, tells Adam Connors why the Latter-day Saints faith is interested in understanding Islam.
