Melbourne, Sydney beset by heathen hoards

In a re-match of last year’s Grand Final, the West Coast Eagles will face the reigning premiers Sydney.

And despite Melbourne being the home of AFL, Victorian teams failed to make the past three Grand Finals.

A similar scenario will take place in Sydney on Sunday, when for the first time, the National Rugby League Grand Final will also be an all-interstate affair, as the Melbourne Storm take on the Brisbane Broncos.

Adam Connors ventured into the crowds lining the streets in Melbourne to gauge local and foreign sentiment to the break with tradition.

It features the voices of some of the tens of thousands of people who made it to Melbourne for the AFL Grand Final and a couple of stunned locals.
