Chinese history painted over in fresco farce

Officials are planning to return frescoes at a Qing Dynasty-era temple back to their original form after they were painted over during restorations.

The work only came to light when Chinese bloggers shamed authorities into explaining why the historical works disappeared under garish cartoons.
