Japan spends big on radical Fukushima clean up

The Japanese government has announced half a billion dollars and a dedicated ministerial task force to tackle the urgent problems arising from the Fukushima nuclear plant.

The measures have been rushed to tackle cascading issues including radioactive water leaks, water storage limits, and even the PR fallout affecting Tokyo’s bid for the 2020 Olympics.
