The continent of Africa is full of artistic riches, with the study of the human form an omnipresent icon in their carvings, their tapestries and their ceramics.
Then there’s the dazzling colours, the vivid lines and dots on dark backgrounds, and the smooth rounded edges.
It’s this range of art that Ray Theron, from the Africana Gallery in South Melbourne, remembers falling in love with as a child growing up there.
