Cities hit in Taliban spring offensive

A suicide bomb in Afghanistan’s capital that killed at least a dozen civilians, five US troops and a Canadian serviceman, has been deplored by the Afghan president and coalition forces.

The blast, which occurred on a busy road near a NATO-led military convoy rocked the area close to government buildings fortified with security.

And Pakistan has suffered yet another blast at the hands of its own branch of the Taliban.
